"It has been acknowledged that multiple debt management, financial advisory and insolvency firms have been engaging in predatory behaviour; taking advantage of vulnerable consumers facing financial hardship.
I am passionate about the ongoing development of legislation, regulation and support services for consumers facing financial distress. The COVID-19 pandemic has intensified the need for regulation in the financial advisory sector.
I support the new credit licensing requirements for debt management firms as this brings credibility to a profession that will undoubtedly be of considerable benefit to consumers."
